Manual lymphatic drainage according to Dr. Vodder is an internationally recognized therapeutic method that has been used for many years at the Health Center Olimia. It is a very gentle technique in which the therapist moves the skin in circular or semi-circular motions – stretching it longitudinally and transversely. The movements are slow and are repeated multiple times to stimulate the lymphatic system's response.

MORE about the implementation of manual lymphatic drainage according to dr. Vodder in Terme Olimpia
The lymphatic system consists of lymphatic vessels that begin freely in the intercellular spaces and lymphatic organs (bone marrow, spleen, lymph nodes). Just below the collarbone, the lymphatic circulation drains into the circulatory system.
Lymphatic fluid (lymph) is a transparent-yellowish fluid that flows through the lymphatic system and contains waste products from cellular processes, bacteria, viruses, foreign substances, and proteins. With the movements of manual lymphatic drainage, we influence the accelerated contraction of lymphatic vessels and consequently accelerate the movement of lymphatic fluid toward the nearest lymph nodes.
This affects the state of the intercellular space, which becomes more permeable to substances necessary for normal functioning and cell regeneration. In this way, our body is relieved.
The main effects of manual lymphatic drainage are: pain reduction, relaxation, improved immune system function, reduced swelling, and improved skin condition.
